Trip to Las Vegas

We finally made it to 'Vegas' to see Nina and Nino. Chris was sick, Pampo (Phillip) was working, Vanessa and Brandon were too busy, but Nana (Carolyn), Mommy (Jess), and Abi made it. Nina and Nino have both recently had big surgeries so we were really glad to be able to come to them. We went to Estella's Cafe to visit Ado and spent some time with Joseph at the house. Too bad, Mommy was feeling sick after the visit!

Growth and Development

So, Abigail had her two month appointment. We thought she was going to be 'tall' on the growth charts, but not really. She was only in the 40% for height, 30% for head circumference, and only 18% for weight! I guess she's kinda' skinny! But she's hitting all her milestones and can manipulate toys with her hands and bring them to her mouth. She got 3 separate injections in her skinny little thighs for her immunizations. Mommy couldn't even watch, she just kept her face on Abi's face and gave her little kisses. Abi did so well and didn't seem any crabbier than usual afterwards. What a brave, tough girl!

My new favorite thing is talking! I love to coo and squeal to hear my voice. Here I am talking to Nana and Pampo after an afternoon of napping at their house while Mom got a much needed pedicure!

Play Day!

Jessica and her sister, Vanessa, are both mommies so it's nice to get together and do mommy stuff! Abi gets a change of scenery and to see her cousins. Vanessa let Jess go out to the grocery store and shower while Abi was sleeping. Sometimes it's hard to get things done when you're home alone with baby.

Abigail's only 7 weeks old and she can already gulp down 4 oz. of milk! We let Daddy do this because she needs to get used to him feeding her on the weekends. She enjoy's it and so does Dad.

So after a few hard days... Abigail's temperament is evening out and she's mostly happy! She loves to talk. She's napping better and didn't cry during her bath today! She almost smiled, but not quite...

Week 7

This week has been a difficult one for Mom (Jess)! I've been reading 'Healthy Sleep Habits, Healthy Baby' by Dr. Weissbluth to help get Abigail into a sleep schedule before I go back to work. This has not been the easiest thing. Abi is just takes 'snaps' (short naps) all day not giving her enough rest to be a calm, happy baby. She's happy and plays for a couple hours in the morning, but after that she's usually what Mom calls a 'Fuss Bucket'. One thing we got lucky with is that Abi sleeps through the night only getting up once or twice depending on bedtime. This has been really nice for Mom's rest! She is now sleeping in her in her crib overnight like a big girl and she's taking one bottle of breastmilk a day that Daddy feeds her. All getting ready for Abi's weekends without Mom. Dad will do great, I know it!
