Getting my ears pierced!

A few pics of my new pink pearl earrings! Mommy, Auntie, Nana and my cousins all went to the mall to watch me get my ears pierced. We went to the Piercing Pagoda where Autumn went for hers. Mommy had to hold my arms and forehead still while they were piercing me, which was sad for her. I did pretty good. I screamed for a few minutes really loud and looked really P.O.'d, but I got over it fairly quickly. I had fun looking around the mall afterward and forgot what just happened. Mommy really thinks I look even more gorgeous than I already did.

My new summer toy!

Dada wanted me to pose with my stuffed animals and this is the face I gave...
Chillin' with my homies...
Mommy just had to buy me this new toy she found on the internet. It's a covered innertube with lots of toys attached to the cover. It even had a sun-shade so it can be used outside. Mommy thought it might encourage me to learn to sit up by myself and learn to turn over and get up on my hands and knees. So far I think it's pretty cool...

Becoming a challenge!

Don't I look so sweet and innocent...
I am, but I'm becoming a challenge! Mom tries to feed me, but I'm a little distracted now. I love to eat the wash cloth that Mom uses to clean my face in between bites!

I feel like a big girl in my big girl high chair!
And when there's nothing to grab to put in my mouth between bites, I'll just munch on the chair. Hope it's washable, Mom!

5 months! Recent developments...

I'm growing up so fast! Just look at me! My hair is getting long and has the same gorgeous, reddish-gold hues as my Dad's. It's a little darker, like Mommy's. I can make pigtails now, though they head in different directions!

I can grab two things at the same time now! My hands are getting quite articulate and I grab everything in sight! Watch out! Everything I grab goes straight to my mouth for me to taste and feel!
And look! I can put my toes in my mouth! My feet are my favorite playthings and now I can eat them! How talented I am!

Photo shoot!

On the way home from Oklahoma, we heard that the Peak radio station was having it's cute baby contest again! Of course, we think we can win it with pics of our sweeite. Dad asked me to put her in a dress, but I thought this outfit was too cute to pass up!

This is gonna be the winner! She kind of 'fell' into this pose, but it worked!

Oklahoma trip!

It was a sad time going to Great-great's funeral, but we managed to try and enjoy our trip. Abi did so well on the ten hour drive, we really are lucky parents. She only really fussed the last couple hours of the trip back home. In the hotel, she still managed to take a nap with the TV on and someone in the room looking out for her. We all stayed in the same hallway of the hotel, so it helped that her favorite babysitters, Auntie Nessa and Nana & Pampo, were right there to help. Once, Nana wrapped me in a towel to swaddle me because Mom & Dad forgot to give them her swaddle blanket! So funny, but it worked.
My first swimming experience! There's Aunt JoAnn, Pampo, Ness right behind us!
A cute hand-me-down swimsuit from cousin Autumn!
Dada bouncing me on the bed!
Getting ready to go to the church, all dressed up!
With my handsome Dada who played the bagpipes at Great-great's graveside.

Random cuteness

What do we do all day? Take silly pics of Abigail and wait for the grandparents to visit!
Grandpa feeding our gal during a near-Mother's Day visit... He likes to scoop her up first thing when he comes!
Enjoying G-parent time!
Attempting more tummy time!
It sure looks like I have huge lips, but I think I was just about to stick my tongue out at the camera!
Dada was being silly with me!

Spring has sprung

Abi is getting her first taste of spring. We're waiting for the winds to die down before all the outside activities ensue, but I can bring the outside to her!
Playing with the snowballl plant. She looks kind of disgusted.
Eating or smelling the flowers...
Feels weird...

Aren't I precious?

Memories of Grandma Thompson

Grandma JoElla Thompson passed away yesterday, May 4th. I'm so glad Abigail got to spend some time with her. She had been over to play with 'Great-great' just a few weeks earlier. She, also, got to visit yesterday and the day before, but I'm not sure Grandma knew it. She did say, "I just want to go to sleep!" as Autumn and Abigail where shrieking at her bedside.

It's been a real blessing to have Grandma here with us the last five years. She's never lived so close all of our lives! I am glad she does not have to suffer from the many maladies that have plagued her these last years any longer. She got so tired of going in and out of the hospital. Westwind House, the assisted living facility where she lived has been so good to our family since my Grandpa's death years ago. They've been a blessing, too.

My Mother has taken care of Grandma as a full-time elective since she's been here, and I hope her re-adjustment period goes well. I know she will miss my Grandma dearly. I hope that she can learn to live with fond memories and start fulfilling her own needs and interests now. No one could've taken such good care of my Grandma, like my mom did, and I hope she knows that Vanessa and I will be there for her in the same way, if need be!

Fun times!

Daddy feeding Abi her favorite food so far, avacado and banana
Super baby!
Getting ready for bed...
I'm sticking my tongue at you, Mommy!
Play time!

Abigail is getting so big! She loves to squeal and play. She's very 'handsy' now, grabbing everything in sight and putting it straight to the mouth. She can roll from her belly to her back, but not the other way around. She's really getting eating down, swallowing almost every bite. It's been a lot of fun these past few weeks, but she's starting to resist nap time. We'll see how the next few weeks are!
